The Toyota Corolla debuted for the first time in 1966. The model of that time was rear-wheel drive and had a longitudinally mounted engine. The designers of the Corolla series retained this principle until 1984, when the first modification of the fifth generation Toyota Corolla was released, with front-wheel drive. Between 1966 and 1977, the model was produced in five body versions: three- and five-door hatchback, wagon, liftback and sedan. The fifth generation retained rear-wheel drive only for the station wagon and three-door hatchback. And the sixth generation, released in 1987, was already purely front-wheel drive. Until 1992, Corolla was equipped with four options for gasoline engines: carburetor and injection power units with a volume of 1.3 and 1.6 liters. The era of the seventh generation began in 1992. Manufacturers lengthened the car, making it more spacious. In May 1997, the eighth generation of the Toyota Corolla debuted. The main achievement of this modification in Europe was the title of "Car of the Year". The next version of the car was released in 2001, and the jubilee tenth generation was released in 2006. Since the tenth generation, Toyota Corolla has been produced only in a sedan body, and hatchback became a separate model - Auris.

Toyota Corolla XI - front-wheel drive five-seater C-class sedan. Information about the new generation that replaced the tenth generation Toyota Corolla, the company distributed in the early summer of 2013. The car is available in two versions - American and European. The difference between them lies in the range of power plants, chassis settings, the list of basic equipment, as well as in design.

It is noteworthy that, in contrast to "American", whose appearance turned out to be very controversial, the style of the Corolla for Europe is sustained in a much calmer vein - without unnecessary pretentiousness and aggression. The design of the front of the "European" in many respects has something in common with Toyota Auris hatchback.

Dimensions Corolla came close to the representative of the D-class Toyota Avensis. Compared to its predecessor, the four-door is 75 mm longer (4,620 mm) and 15 mm wider (1,775 mm). The length of the wheelbase has grown by 100 mm and now reaches 2,700 mm. The increase will be appreciated by rear passengers, whose legroom has increased by 75 mm.

The trunk has slightly increased, the volume of which is now 452 liters.

The list of additional equipment includes a stability control system, a six-inch touch screen, and a parking lot.

But the main news was the company's abandonment of the outdated quad-band machine. It was replaced by the Multidrive S CVT, which can simulate seven gears. The new automated transmission helped improve not only the efficiency, but also the dynamic performance of the "automatic" Toyota Corolla.

Toyota Corolla is offered with three power plant options (engine and transmission):

1. Corolla 1.33 Dual VVT-i is the base version with a 6-speed manual transmission, with a 1329 cm3 petrol four-cylinder engine (99 hp at 6000 rpm and 128 Nm at 3800 rpm). Up to 100 km / h, this model accelerates in 12.6 seconds, and the maximum speed is 180 km / h. Combined fuel consumption is 5.6 l/100 km;
2. The Corolla 1.6 Dual VVT-i is a 6-speed manual transmission version with a 1598cc four-cylinder petrol engine (122 hp at 6000 rpm and 154 Nm at 5200 rpm). Up to 100 km / h, this model accelerates in 10.5 seconds, and the maximum speed is 195 km / h. Combined fuel consumption is 6.6 l/100 km;
3. The Corolla 1.6 Dual VVT-i is the Multidrive S CVT version, with a 1598cc petrol four-cylinder engine (122 hp at 6000 rpm and 154 Nm at 5200 rpm). Up to 100 km / h, this model accelerates in 11.1 seconds, and the maximum speed is 185 km / h. Combined fuel consumption is 6.3 l/100 km.

Toyota Corolla is offered in five trim levels: business, City, live, Active And style. The basic version provides:
