Toyota FJ Cruiser - a five-seater SUV, available in both rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive. The car was first presented as a concept in 2003 at one of the North American auto shows. The car was supposed to recall the brand's long history of off-road models and was a modern interpretation of the design of the Land Cruiser SUV of the 60s. After receiving a positive response from the public, Toyota decided to put the FJ Cruiser into mass production. The market debut of the model took place in 2006.
At the moment, one gasoline engine is available for the Toyota FJ Cruiser - a 4-liter V6. The engine power is 260 hp, and the maximum torque is 366 Nm. The off-road capabilities of the vehicle depend on the selected transmission. In the case of a five-speed automatic, the model is offered in two versions - with rear-wheel drive or with a plug-in all-wheel drive system. But when choosing a six-speed “mechanics”, the car is equipped exclusively with a permanent all-wheel drive system.
Despite the fact that the Toyota FJ Cruiser looks like a three-door car, it is actually a five-door. Doors for rear passengers are simply disguised and open in the opposite direction to the movement. Another original detail is a wide and at the same time narrow windshield, for cleaning which not two, but three “wipers” are used.
Depending on the modification, the SUV's ground clearance is 221 or 243 mm. Toyota FJ Cruiser is produced in Japan.
