Presentation of the new Toyota Hilux  took place simultaneously in Australia and Thailand. The novelty has received several modifications - with a single, double and one and a half cabs. The length of the "medium" version of the Double Cap is 5335 mm (+74 mm relative to its predecessor), the width is 1855 mm (+20 mm), while the height and size of the wheelbase remain the same and amount to 1820 mm and 3085 mm, respectively.

The model has changed externally, and has also undergone a radical technical revision. In addition, a couple of new diesel engines have been added to the engine range of the novelty, which will work with six-speed transmissions.

The frame design of the new Hilux has changed - the spars now have a larger cross section and thickness, as well as the number of welding points and the proportion of high-strength steel have increased. The suspension of the car was developed and tuned by the specialists of the Australian division of the brand, who prepared three variants of the "running" with different elasticity settings: the average Standard for all roads, Heavy Duty for heavy loads and Comfort for frequent driving on ordinary asphalt roads.

The engine range of the novelty includes a new diesel “turbo four” 1GD 2.8 with a capacity of 177 hp. and peak torque of 450 Nm. This engine replaced the former 3.0-liter 1KD diesel. The new unit is paired with a six-speed "automatic" (instead of the five-speed of the previous generation). The drive is on all wheels.

In Ukraine, Hilux can be ordered in three versions, for which two diesel four-cylinder 16-valve turbocharged engines with a high-pressure system with direct fuel injection (Common Rail) with a volume of 2.5 and 3.0 liters are offered. These engines are capable of developing a maximum power of 144 and 171 hp. With. respectively. The car is equipped with a plug-in all-wheel drive. The model with the 2.5-liter engine is equipped with a five-speed manual transmission, while the modification with the 3.0-liter engine is equipped with a five-speed automatic transmission. Toyota Hilux stands out for its masculine body design with recognizable Toyota SUV features. Inside, Toyota Hilux pleasantly surprises with a stylish and functional interior, which, in terms of convenience and design, creates a feeling of comfort, as while staying in a passenger car.

Toyota Hilux is offered with two powertrain options (engine and transmission):

1. Hilux is the basic version with a 6-speed manual transmission, 2393 cm3 diesel four-cylinder engine (150 hp and 400 Nm). Up to 100 km / h, this model accelerates in 13.3 seconds, and the maximum speed is 170 km / h. Combined fuel consumption is 7.3 l/100 km;
2. Hilux is a version with a 6-speed automatic transmission, a 2755 cm3 diesel four-cylinder engine (177 hp and 450 Nm). Up to 100 km / h, this model accelerates in 13.3 seconds, and the maximum speed is 175 km / h. Combined fuel consumption is 8.5 l/100 km.

Toyota Hilux is available in three trim levels: Business, Active and Legend. The initial version includes:

• - seven airbags, including for the driver's knees;
• - Isofix child seat mounts and immobilizer;
• - Forced locking of the rear cross-axle differential;
• - assistance system during the start uphill NAS;
• — trailer stabilization system TSC (Trailer Stability Control);
• — Active traction control system A-TRC;
• - VSC stabilization system;
• - Anti-lock braking system with emergency braking assistance and electronic brake force distribution (ABS + BA + EBD);
• — Radio preparation and 4 speakers;

• - air conditioner;
• — Heated front seats;
• — Multifunctional steering wheel;
• — Electric front and rear glass doors;
• — Electric mirrors with heating;

Production of Toyota Hilux is established at the company's plants in Thailand and Argentina.
