The first generation of the car was presented in October 2006 at the Paris Motor Show. In February 2007, Auris officially went on sale and since then has gained immense popularity among consumers. The compact hatchback, which was produced in both three- and five-door versions, was equipped with several gasoline power units ranging from 1.33 to 1.8 liters and three turbodiesel engines ranging from 1.4 to 2.2 liters. The most powerful engine was a 2.2-liter four-cylinder 177-horsepower diesel engine, aggregated with a six-speed manual transmission. He accelerated the compact hatchback to 100 km / h in just 8.1 seconds and at the same time was distinguished by good efficiency.

The second generation of the car is presented in August 2012, as before, at the Paris Motor Show. The Japanese hatchback has grown slightly in length, but at the same time it has become lower, and the width has remained the same as before. Ergonomics, design and interior trim have improved, but the powertrains have undergone only minor changes.

Also, as before, four petrol engines (1.33 and 1.8 liters), two diesels (1.4 and 1.8 liters) and a hybrid power plant with a 1.8-liter petrol engine are available. The new hatchback, like the car of the previous generation, received a five-star safety rating from Euro NCAP.

From January 2013 Toyota Auris the second generation is also offered in Ukraine. The car has significantly changed in appearance, has become more spacious and roomy, has received new headlights with LED elements and upgraded power units.

Legroom for rear passengers has been increased by 20 mm, and boot volume has increased by 10 liters and now reaches 360 liters. With the rear seats folded down, the cargo area can be increased to 1,200 liters.

The range of engines for our market includes two petrol engines. In addition, for the first time, they began to supply us with a hybrid modification of Toyota Auris, the power units of which were borrowed from Toyota Prius.

Toyota Auris It is offered with three options for the power plant (engine and transmission):

1. Auris 1.6 is the base version with 6-speed manual transmission, 1598cc petrol four-cylinder engine (132 hp at 6400 rpm and 160 Nm at 4400 rpm). To 100 km / h, this model accelerates in exactly 10.0 seconds, and the maximum speed is 200 km / h. Combined fuel consumption is 6.3 l/100 km.
2. Auris 1.6, but with a variator (CVT), which simulates seven gears, the same 1598 cm3 petrol four-cylinder engine (132 hp at 6400 rpm and 160 Nm at 4400 rpm). Up to 100 km / h, this model accelerates in 10.8 seconds, and the maximum speed is 195 km / h. Combined fuel consumption is 6.1 l/100 km.
3. The Auris 1.8 Hybrid is a hybrid version with an optimized E-CVT, a 1798cc four-cylinder petrol engine that, together with a motor generator, develops 136 hp. at 5200 rpm and 142 Nm at 2800-4400 rpm. The hybrid model accelerates to 100 km/h in 10.9 seconds and has a top speed of 180 km/h. Combined fuel consumption is 4.1 l/100 km.

Already in the database, the Toyota Auris equipment list includes 6 airbags and climate control. Depending on the configuration, not only the list of equipment is expanding, but also the appearance of the model changes. For the hatchback, there are several design options for rims and a front air intake, as well as chrome trim for exterior parts.

Toyota Auris is offered in four trim levels - Live, Active, Style and Lounge. The basic package includes the following:
