The Yaris model is made by a Japanese corporation. Toyota since 1999. The first generation Yaris lasted 6 years. Interestingly, depending on the market, the cars were named Echo or Yaris. The model was offered in three body styles: sedan, coupe and hatchback. The "right-hand drive" hatchback was supplied under the name Toyota Vitz, and the coupe and sedan - Toyota Platz.

Also, the second generation was replenished with a 4-door Toyota Belta sedan. In 2007, at the Geneva Motor Show, the manufacturer introduced the Toyota Yaris RS model. The car was distinguished by a new engine with a capacity of 130 horsepower. Modification of Toyota Belta in 2007 was awarded the "Best Car of the Year" award. Second generation vehicles were also produced by Daihatsu from 2011 to 2013 (as a Charade model).

The third (current) generation of the Yaris was introduced in 2010. Among the innovations are an electronic display that replaces the standard dashboard (the screen displays a speedometer, odometer, tachometer and other information), more free space for passengers and the driver, and a more aggressive appearance. Also in March 2012, the Yaris had its first production hybrid version, which borrowed the power plant from the famous Prius hybrid.

A restyled version of the model was introduced in the second quarter of 2014. The new Yaris has been given a strong personality with an exterior design that sets the hatchback apart from competitors in the B-Class segment with its atypical look. The exterior design is made in the corporate style of Toyota "Under Priority" and "Keen Look". The design combines crisp criss-cross lines around the logo at the front of the car that separate the redesigned upper and lower grille. The elegant projector headlights with LED daytime running lights are also eye-catching. At the rear of the car, the design of the bumper and lights has been redesigned, which now use LEDs.

The interior has not changed much, the upper part of the central panel has been slightly modified in the cabin, the air conditioning controls have been changed. The choice of interior design options has become richer due to new color combinations.

The chassis has been modified suspension to simultaneously improve the level of comfort and handling of the car. The manufacturer also paid great attention to reducing noise levels to ensure a comfortable atmosphere in the cabin.

Toyota Yaris is offered with three power plant options (engine and transmission):

1. The Yaris 1.0 VVT-i is the base version with a 5-speed manual transmission, powered by a 998cc (69 hp and 95 Nm) three-cylinder petrol engine. Up to 100 km / h, this model accelerates in 15.3 seconds, and the maximum speed is 155 km / h. The combined fuel consumption is 4.7 l/100 km.
2. Yaris 1.33 Dual VVT-i is a version with a 6-speed manual transmission and a 1329 cm3 4-cylinder petrol engine (99 hp and 125 Nm). Up to 100 km / h, this model accelerates in 11.7 seconds, and the maximum speed is 175 km / h. Combined fuel consumption is 5.1 l/100 km.
3. Yaris 1.33 Dual VVT-i with Multidrive S continuously variable variator (CVT) that simulates 7 gears. Such a car is slower in acceleration to 100 km / h (12.6 seconds), but is just as economical (5.1 l / 100 km in the combined cycle). And the maximum speed of 175 km / h has not changed compared to the previous version.
4. Yaris 1.5 Dual VVT-iE appeared in the range updated models in early 2017 instead of 1.33 Dual VVT-i. Gasoline engine displacement 1496 cm3 develops 111 hp and 136 Nm. Hatchback with this engine and CVT Multidrive S accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 11.2 seconds, and fuel consumption on the combined cycle is claimed at 4.8 l/100 km.
